This post is basically a for the techies out there that want to know what kind of system and other devices i use when playing games like World of Warcraft. I built my computer back in 2010 but is still able to play all the recent games at max settings. The system contains a Intel core I7 2.8MHz processor, 18MB of DDR3 memory, 2 GeForce GTX 260 video cards set in SLI, and 2 hard drives one 250GB and the other is 1TB for storage.
The devices I use while playing games like World of Warcraft are what I believe simplify a lot of things for me and allow me to be more efficient. First off I use a Steelseries Z-board keyboard as well as the Steelseries Fang Gamepad. I have had the Fang game pad for many many years and don’t know what I would ever do without it. Th fang gamepad as well as the Z-board are fully programmable and allow any key on the devices to be set to any key, or key combination you want. They do provide general key sets for tons of games but I prefer to set them up to what I think is comfortable.
For my mouse I have a Razer Lanchesis with a 5600dpi 3.5G laser sensor allowing you to be more accurate and fine tune your mouse speed to whatever is comfortable to you. There are also 9 programmable buttons that I personally set to my action bar hot keys in wow.
My headset is a Turtle Beach EarForce DPX21 that are super comfortable and I can wear hours on end without any problems. The DPX21 headset includes an additional amplifies that uses an optical input for 5.1/7.1 surround sound. The sound quality from the DPX21 is phenomenal compared to some of the cheaper headsets I have previously owned. The other reason I bought this headset is because it is compatible with my Xbox 360 slim and definately gives me a competitive edge when playing games like Call of Duty because you can literally hear every footstep when someone is near you .
Well that is pretty much it when it come to the hardware I use when playing my games. Without these additional devices game play would definitely be more complicated and harder.
